Moonwalk (November 2019)

“Moonwalk” is a modern day fairytale about a “burner boy” in Ghana who is confronted by a strange kind of spirit animal as he harvests copper from electronic waste. (@theartofmypetskeleton)

This tour de force short film serves as a music video for Hand of the Tribe, a Boston-based metal band who wanted to ask some deep questions about the West’s relationship to e-waste and our attitude towards dumping our stuff in far away places, out of sight.

Expertly directed by Vincent Marcone of My Pet Skeleton, this project was a true collaboration between numerous talented artists. We put all the pieces together, compositing the excellent stop motion animation elements with beautifully rendered backgrounds, both practical and digital. We added loads of visual effects overtop to marry it all together to create cohesive worlds for both the boy and for the owl. It was hugely challenging, but even more hugely rewarding.

Watch Moonwalk.
